Ira Imperium!

Frank Frazetta: Seven Romans

Descend from your almighty skies
And take the law in your hands
For the land, for the tears that we cried
And the fears we shared,
For the damned and the heroes
That died in vain
Are they the ones betrayed?

Ira Imperium
Now feel their anger crash your heart
Ira Imperium
It's time for you to play your part
Ira Imperium,
You'll see the things
That they'll let you see
How does it feel To be the damned
Ira Imperium

It's time to fell the wrath of the Gods
Cause we are their children,
Their forgotten ones
For the lust that we felt
And the lust that we once shared,
For the sins, for the greed,
And the kill
We never cared

The pirate song!

Frank Earle Schoonovers: Brawn of These Lads Made the Pike a Match for a Pirates Cutlass

(The Corsair by George Gordon Lord Byron)

'O'er the glad waters of the dark blue sea,
Our thoughts as boundless, and our soul's as free
Far as the breeze can bear, the billows foam,
Survey our empire, and behold our home!
These are our realms, no limits to their sway-
Our flag the sceptre all who meet obey.
Ours the wild life in tumult still to range
From toil to rest, and joy in every change.
Oh, who can tell? not thou, luxurious slave!
Whose soul would sicken o'er the heaving wave;
Not thou, vain lord of wantonness and ease!
whom slumber soothes not - pleasure cannot please -
Oh, who can tell, save he whose heart hath tried,
And danced in triumph o'er the waters wide,
The exulting sense - the pulse's maddening play,
That thrills the wanderer of that trackless way?
....................
....................
Such were the notes that from the Pirate's isle
Around the kindling watch-fire rang the while:
Such were the sounds that thrill'd the rocks along,
And unto ears as rugged seem'd a song!
In scatter'd groups upon the golden sand,
They game-carouse-converse-or whet the brand:
Select the arms-to each his blade assign,
And careless eye the blood that dims its shine.
Repair the boat, replace the helm or oar,
While others straggling muse along the shore
....................
....................
'Tis morn - to venture on his lonely hour
Few dare; though now Anselmo sought his tower.
He was not there, nor seen along the shore;
Ere night, alarm'd, their isle is traversed o'er:
Another morn - another bids them seek,
And shout his name till echo waxeth weak;
Mount: grotto, cavern, valley search'd in vain,
They find on shore a sea-boat's broken chain:
Their hope revives-they follow o'er the main.
'Tis idle all - moons roll on moons away,
And Conrad comes not, came not since that day:
Nor trace, nor tidings of his doom declare
Where lives his grief, or perish'd his despair!
Long mourn'd his band whom none could mourn beside;
And fair the monument they gave his bride:
For him they raise not the recording stone -
His death yet dubious, deeds too widely known;
He left a Corsair's name to other times,
Link'd with one virtue, and a thousand crimes.

Season of the Witch

Frank Frazetta: Swamp Witch

Sorcerers play here where witches prey
You'll be here forever
Time will tell when you heal your bell
Stop this spell I am not for Hell

Demons chant, try and escape you can't
You'll be here forever
Time will tell when you heal your bell
Stop this spell I am not for Hell

Step out of the darkness and into the light
Only a coward will hide in the blackness of night
I make a challenge to you now,
If you will allow me to be free

Take off these chains that bind me
Fight the rage that's inside me
Choose your sword
I have the power at my side
More than you can realise
I have the Lord

Sorcerers play here where witches prey
You'll be here forever
Time will tell when you heal your bell
Stop this spell I am not for Hell

Daughter of Darkness

Frank Cadogan Cowper: La belle dame sans merci

She came to me inside a dream
Bathed in the light of a thousand years
Through the mist of another cold black night

A lonely road at the edge of the world
A sudden change in the mist occurred
Her eyes glowed bright, but her gaze spoke of doom

I felt the wind on my back, I saw the knife in her hand
That's when I knew I had to run away

Daughter of darkness, now I see who you are
Daughter of darkness, an evil face in the crowd
Daughter of darkness, I know who you are
Daughter of darkness, let me come inside

A simple touch put an end to my fears
Her soothing voice was all I could hear
Beckoning me toward her gift of light
I tried to hide from the shadow she cast
Will I face the morning at last
God help me please, have I gone mad

I felt the wind on my back, I saw the knife in her hand
That's when I knew I had to run away

Daughter of darkness, now I see who you are
Daughter of darkness, an evil face in the crowd
Daughter of darkness, I know who you are
Daughter of darkness, let me come inside

God help me, save me, take me away

So now I live in fear of a dream
The wait feels like a thousand years
When I face my one last cold black night
I travel roads to the ends of the world
My future, my past, folded and furled
The light of her eyes will lead me back home

I felt the wind on my back, I saw the knife in her hand
That's when I knew I had to run away

Daughter of darkness, now I see who you are
Daughter of darkness, an evil face in the crowd
Daughter of darkness, I know who you are
Daughter of darkness, let me come inside
Let me come inside, take me away

God help me, save me, take me away

Chasing dragons

Chad Weatherford: Washed up

As Hermes once took to his feathers light
When lulled Argus, baffled, swoon'd and slept
So on a Delphic reed my idle spright
So play'd, so charm'd, so conquer'd, so bereft
The dragon-world of all its hundred eyes
And, seeing it asleep, so fled away
Not to pure Ida with its snow-cold skies
Nor unto Tempe where Jove griev'd a day
But to that second circle of sad hell
Where 'mid the gust, the whirlwind, and the flaw
Of rain and hail-stones, lovers need not tell
Their sorrows. Pale were the sweet lips I saw
Pale were the lips I kiss'd, and fair the form
I floated with, about that melancholy storm

Death and the Maiden

Marianne Stokes: Death and the Maiden

(W.A. Mozart - Lacrimosa)

(F. Schubert - Death and the Maiden quartet - part II )

And sands she turned for time...

Boris Vallejo: Red Sonja

She came in dreams of fear
Oh she seemed so real
In her hands, held a vision of my life
And sands she turned for time

She said to me look now, for when
For when the last grain falls
Memories of me, in time, will fade

Then the dream, it seems alive
And its promise revealed to me
Leads me to the vile fountain
To soak myself to death
"Oh serene its clawing embrace"

Black roses did bloom
Oh my thorns were sharp
And her blood on my shards
I do long

Every night she serenades me
With her hymns of doom
She comes to me once more
She smiles, and dream in peace once again

Lost Valentine

Edward Robert Hughes: Bertuccio's Bride for the Nights of Straparola

I'll let the music play while love lies softly bleeding
In heavy hands on shadowlands
As thunder clouds roll in, sunset is receding
No summer wine, no Valentine

A tiger trapped inside a cage
An actor on an empty stage
Come see the show
Rock ‘n' roll can heal your soul
When broken hearts lose all control

Some rivers still run dry and jungles burn to embers
Gold autumn days must fade to grey
There is a reason why a haunted man remembers
One frozen night, his darkest day

A tiger trapped inside a cage
An actor on an empty stage
Come see the show
Rock ‘n' roll will heal your soul
When broken hearts lose all control

Passion killed by acid rain
A rollercoaster in my brain
But, how would you know
In your satin, silk and lace
Another time, another place

A tiger trapped inside a cage
An actor on an empty stage
Come see the show
Rock ‘n' roll will heal your soul
When broken hearts lose all control

A love let loose and painted black
A train stuck on a broken track
I'll let it go
Rock ‘n' roll has healed my soul
The stage is set, on with the show

Love letters

Gil Elvgren: love letter (too good to be true)

Someday sweetheart i will come to you
and do the things i promised to do
make you a queen in my happy home
just like a bee in a honey comb
i will be with you as long as i live
and make you happy with the things i give

for i love you more then you'll ever know
in most of my letters i have told you so
what a blessed day when we meet again
life for us will not have no end
for i love you more then you'll ever know

in most of my letters i have told you so

The sword of the Gods!

Jeffrey Jones: Warrior

We were born to defy, we were born to heed our own heart´s call and our own voice. Amidst a sea of lame excuses, mediocrity, conformist rhetoric, and other bland sentiments that pass for ROCK MUSIC these days, we stand as an Island, a Fortress, a Bastion, a Haven for the Foundation of what we consider to be the True METAL Faith and perhaps the CLASSICAL MUSIC of the 21st CENTURY. A Testament to the Power of the Will, exploration and self expression. An alternative to the ever present corporate menace that passes for Popular Music.

As we approach the new Millennium, we see our goal to be a union, a convergence of various Forms into one. Music, be it ROCK based, CLASSICAL based or whatever, Poetry, Theatre, Painting, Sculpture and Film can and will be molded, blended and reborn in new and exciting shapes which enrich our World, galvanize our emotions, open our senses, our hearts, our minds to Spheres, Plains, Oceans of unlimited possibilities through which we may sea our Universe and our relationship so it in a new and different Light! To truly live, to drink the new Wine, to bathe in new Waters strange and beautiful, to embrace what was lost and what may be found, this is the Spirit which drives our passion ever onward!

We invite you to join us on this Quest for Life, Adventure and the Pursuit of all Forms of Emotion, Expression and Passion!!! BY THE GODS it is time to Fly!!! ALL are Welcome, ALL are One, THE GATE OF KINGS AND QUEENS is Open for those who have the Wish and the Will to Walk on through!!!

After the Fire, Water, Wrath, Storm, Pain and Tears... We will meet again in Honour, Faith & Love... Don´t be late!!!

BY THE GODS & GODESSES,
D. DEFEIS 1996

Hiroshima mon amour!

Boris Vallejo: Bride

It was newborn and ten feet tall,
But they called it little boy,
And C7, H5, O6, N3 they called him
T-N-T.

The fireball would dim the sun,
Promising death in its cruelest form.

Hiroshima Mon Amour
As we beg to be forgiven do you spit,
In our face and curse us all.

The fireball that shamed the sun,
Burning the shadows on the ground,
As the rain falls to dry the land,
Leaving desert for the thirsty man.

They all said it would end the war,
And we thanked Christ for the bomb,
And the priests and witches all agreed,
They should die to keep them free.

The fireball that shamed the sun,
Burning the shadows on the ground,
As the rain falls to dry the land,
Leaving the desert for the thirsty man.

HIROSHIMA!!!

Ballad of the swords

Jeffrey Jones: Winged helmet

Across the moor we norsemen rode
& skalds to us song
That days of glory soon should be
When swords blood-red were swung
"One eyed father give us strength
my brave kinsmen & I
In Valhalla I your mighty men will meet
if I in this battle die
>From the sky your ravens watching me
Both of them I see
Thank you Father for letting me know
You watch over me"
At the moor the ravens spoke to me
While skalds did their song
A bitter loss was soon to come
For those I were among

Across the moor we norsemen rode
& skalds to us sung
That days of glory soon should be
When swords blood-red were swung
I say to you - I ask you to
For once be your own lord
Come with me be a part of my
Ballad of the swords

A sudden clash where swords were drawn
was the beginning of my end
With a norsemans pride & courage I fought
I would to Hel them send
Instead I felt cold chilling steel
Stab me from behind
A cravens deed, indeed it was
Peace he should not find
Faded I did, strange beauty I met
The dream for me came true
Brought up I were, Bifrost I saw
My mortal life were through
Your mortal life with children & wife
Wouldn't have no value if you knew as I
About life up here
You would die to be here forever...

In the glades of summer...

John William Waterhouse: Sweet Summer

In the fields of summer
I will dance away with you
I never knew the pain would see us through
And though we fear the silence
We never ever realized
That life was only passing gently by

When the darkness seems to fall
Then I can hear you call
Your voice is clearer now than before
And in the summer rain
I´ll carry all your pain
If I could only see you again

In the glades of summer
A light still wanes in you
Like winter days long gone
In midst of June
And though the cross feels lighter
On a warm midsummer night
Why do we then still feel so cold inside

When the darkness seems to fall
Then I can hear you call
Your voice is weaker now than before
And in the summer rain
You gave in to your pain
And life will never be the same again
